Just when I thought I was done with the makeup buying… Well, I opened my Ulta catalog to this, so apparently I wasn’t finished. If there is a makeup throwback to one of my old fandoms, know that it will probably end up in my house! I looked forward to weekdays at 5pm for Saved By The Bell! This nostalgic collection is designed just like the early 90’s with the colorful shapes as well as the black and white colorized photos of the cast. I ordered the PR box from Ulta.com for $69.99.
The box itself is styled after the red lockers at Bayside High. You may not see it in the first photo, but the duffel makeup bag is indeed included in the box! It’s nestled behind the lip kits.
Bayside Beauties Plumping Lip Kits, $6.99 each
The colors are exactly what I like to wear. A bright pink, a more lilac pink and a neutral pink. It’s a toss up between Kelly and Lisa as to which is my favorite on me, but I think it may be Lisa with it’s cool-toned lilac pink.
Wet n Wild pencils are no Kylie lip pencils. The Wet N Wild ones aren’t pigmented enough, nor are they creamy. I guess my lips have to be drier to see the color.
The plumping gloss smells like bubblegum when applied. The scent fades into a scent that I’d describe as feminine hygiene products. I wish it stayed bubblegum. There is a very cooling sensation on my lips, which is the plumping agent at work, but I don’t notice my lips look any plumper but they’d have to be a miracle potion to do that! For a gloss they last a long time, it has a nice thick consistency that isn’t evaporating and is keeping my lips from drying out. I do like these, the colors themselves are the major selling point for me!
Glow Face Duos, $6.99 each
It looks like each couple has a face duo for each face product. Kelly and Zack are a highlighter palette, Jessie and Slater are a blush duo and and Screech and Lisa are bronzer palette. BUT this depends on each individual person’s skin tone so don’t take it to heart!
The Kelly highlighter worked for me, I thought it would be too dark, but it worked. The Zack one works better as a shimmery blush, but may be useable for darker skin tone as a highlighter.
The Jessie and Slater blushes are intense on my skin tone, I have to go at to with a light hand. But this will work great on skin tones darker than mine!
.The Screech bronzer worked great on me! The Lisa bronzer has a red undertone that it may work better as a bronzer on other skin tones than mine. However, this can work more as a blush than bronzer because of the red under tone, but it honestly depends on whomever’s face it’s on.
The quotes are laser-etched into the speech bubbles. They’re not perfectly centered, but that won’t matter when they get messed up anyway! I re-watched the series while writing this post. This quote is from Season 2, Episode 1,-The Prom.
Episode 2.1- Dancing To The Max. I wasn’t kidding about re-watching old episodes, they’re free on Peacock TV!
Squad Goals Eyeshadow Palette, $15.99
Three of the pans have custom imprints, which makes it a little more fun and more on-theme. The formula is to be expected from Wet N Wild. I’m a bit spoiled because I just reviewed Glamlite and Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Wet N Wild isn’t known for buttery pigmented formulas. They’re definitely drier. It’s not terrible or un-useable, but I know I wont be reaching for it a lot. If it wasn’t Saved By The Bell branded, I probably would have passed it up. If this was out in the 90’s, I’d for sure love this! We didn’t have palettes like this back then, maybe some quads, but not of this quality. Believe me, 90’s makeup wasn’t this pigmented or fun!
I’ve only worn it once, so this is a first impression. The darker mattes are pigmented, they looked intense on my eyes. But the lighter colors, especially the metallics weren’t as pigmented. Metallics are sheer and seem more like toppers, I tried packing two of them on my lid and not much was showing up. The glitter definitely needs a glitter adhesive, I haven’t worn it, but I can tell by swatching.
Home of The Tigers Kabuki Brush $8.99 and Zack Attack Live Performing At The Max Brush Kit, $15.99
This packaging is absolutely perfect! How freakin creative was it to make it into an old-school cell phone? I’m keeping this.
I messed up #relationshipgoals! I had the face palettes open because closing and opening them is an ordeal with long nails, so I left them open. I put down the brush set in the plastic packaging and the corner knicked Kelly’s speech bubble. Zack and Kelly was the couple I rooted for, I just messed up their relationship. Bad omens.
Bayside Cheerleading Mascara, $7.99
I haven’t used this, but it will have to be a lower lash mascara for me! My lashes are straight and won’t hold a curl if I put regular mascara on it.
Wanna Wrestle? Setting Spray, $7.99
Setting spray smells like freshly applied hair gel like Depp or LA Looks. It’s probably how Slater would smell if he walked past you.
Makeup Duffel Bag, $9.99
The little makeup duffel bag was the thing I wanted the most! How freakin cute is this? It also has a logo zipper pull. The only thing I would change is that I would have added some padding so makeup will be a little more protected. But I don’t even make my own makeup bags, I just design the print, so who am I to talk?
Should you run to your nearest Ulta to pick this whole collection up? Only if you were a fan back in the day and want the collectibles! Otherwise it’s not a super must-have.
The lip glosses are my favorite thing in this set, the colors are exactly what I like to wear. I’d grab more if I saw it in store because these are getting used and the price is right!
As far as the reboot, they massacred my boy Zack.
Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored. This may be a “PR Box”, but I paid $70 for it at Ulta.
