Continuing with my “TikTok Made Me Buy It” series: Lipglosses that are the magic of fairytales bottled up into color-shifting hues. Scrolling on the For You page, my attention was caught by a multi-chromatic lipgloss swatch video featuring a shifting teal to purple gloss. It was so pigmented with an impressive shift! I immediately bookmarked the video and product! The brand is called Magical Hippie Crecallium. I had to look up what Crecallium meant, according to Google it is: “a word to conjure the creativity to make something beautiful.” Which has a really nice meaning. These cosmetics are handmade, cruelty-free and vegan. Don’t sleep on this brand! The best way to discover brands new to me has been random videos on the For You page on TikTok. Perusing their TikTok Shop, I saw many shades I was interested in (which was really all of the lip glosses, but to save money, I was going to buy a few at a time.) So I picked up four and got a bonus one!
If you are unfamiliar with TikTok Shop, it is only available within the app, and not via the web. Though I seem to not able to access the Shop on my iPad version, (this could be because I need to update the app.) I wanted to make my purchases before something happened to TikTok. What will happen due to the ban? It is explained here by The CEO of TikTok, Shou Chew, and here by Alexis and Dean. It’s not gone yet and will stick around before the next move is made. If the US does eventually get banned from access, small businesses and artists would suffer because social media is how people find out that they exist. Not every business owner can afford to buy ads, nor can we handle the influx of orders in the case we go viral. Videos showing up on the For Your page, shows your video to the right customers via the algorithm. TikTok has been a lot more forgiving than Instagram, which is why I quit IG for 3 years. (I made a new one in case no one knew.)
The algorithm found me, not just for the duo-chromatic makeup, but for the fantasy aspect! This brand is right up my alley!

Ubboxing
This was one of the most pleasant unboxing experiences ever! They carefully thought out her packaging, wrote a nice hand written note, as well as included some free gifts! I really appreciate gifts with purchase, it’s definitely incentive to buy again! They included stickers, a pouch of crystals, an adorable mushroom of glitter and an additional lip gloss! Including all of these things made it feel so special.
As an artist and someone who owns their own small business, I actually think presentation and packaging is important. Magical Hippie Crecallium gets that! The shipping box is nicely decorated with on-theme mushroom tape and a fairy illustration , and I am sure the forest green colored box was also chosen for the fairy theme!
Lipglosses
These glosses have a scent that reminds me of the holidays, I think it smells like Leaves from Bath & Bodyworks. It’s a nice warm, spiced fragrance. It goes with the cozy, magical forest theme. As for the texture, my lips feel super moisturized, it’s not gritty and not sticky.
The lipglosses come in different prices, I believe this must be because certain pigments/materials have a higher cost. I am glad for my bank account that they’re not all consistently the higher price.
Pegasus, $16– Milky cool bluish white with a shifting blue to purple to pink sheen and glitter sparkles. It looks very ethereal. I have milky iridescent-like glosses, but none this pigmented. (This is more of a duochrome and not iridescent like the Inglot gloss.) Over bare lips, it looks like a cool pastel lilac shade. You can layer this or just leave it on its own, perhaps paired with a lip liner.
Fairytale, $16- Sheer pink with holographic glitter. I like to layer this with a cool light pink lip color.
Thornbloom, $22– Metallic Red-Violet to orange to olive green shift.
Northern Lights, $22- Metallic Peacock teal to blue to purple. This is the initial lip swatch I saw that introduced me to the brand.
Hecate, $14– Super opaque black with silver holo glitter. I am so impressed at how pigmented and opaque this applies… and the holographic glitter still shows!
The shift on Northern Lights and Thornbloom looks incredible! This has a ring light shining on it. Hectae is super pigmented, I am super impressed with it! In person the holographic glitter shows up a lot more. I believe there is a smudge on my lens, which is why they look like they were taken in a dream!
Here are photos that show the olive green in Thornbloom. The photo above shows, Northern Lights as dominantly purple instead of teal, and below you can see the blue to purple shift at the edges. In my previous post, I compared these three lip products. I concluded: The Chaotic Cosmetics lipstick is very different. There is an obvious difference in color and the fact that it’s a liquid lipstick that dries down. I have Yva’s Supernova swatched with Magical Hippie Crecallium’s Thornbloom. The two glosses are the same visually. I think either of these glosses could pair with the liquid lipstick if you wanted to be super extra with the duochrome. But the glosses are already pigmented enough! The shift looks so beautiful in the tubes! You can pick out more colors.
It’s time to change out this wrapping paper! It’s gotten dirty from all the photo shoots!
Other Offerings
Magical Hippie Crecallium carries various products such as shimmering powders, lashes, water-activated paint/liners, eyeshadows, pigments water-based lip stains as well as crystals! I am interested in quite a few things, especially trying a lip stain as well as picking up the remaining lip glosses.
Below is an adorable little mushroom container filled with chunky red and green glitter. I think I will use this in a Christmas resin project, like an ornament. Makeup would wash away, but in resin it’s kept forever! If you get a mushroom, be careful when opening, because that is the lid, there’s not another lid inside.
I don’t know a lot about crystals, but I see that there are some pretty crystal bracelets in the shop. I have been working on a black bracelet stack lately, and there are a few that go with the theme!Since learning how to craft with resin, I have been making a lot of things. I bought a moon shelf mold off of Amazon. It’s so small! Too small to store most things like nail polish or lip balms. But I know that these moon shelves are usually used to display crystals. Well, these are the only crystals I have and they seem to be the only objects that fit on this tiny shelf! So it all works out!
If you like this shelf, I will eventually make some to list on my online shop within a month or two! I only have the one mold, and it takes a few days to make, so I won’t have many. (Not to mention it takes so much resin to make one shelf!)
My next purchase I will buy the other two glosses (Psychedelia and Raven) and try out some of their other products. These glosses from Magical Hippie Crecallium are definitely something I will buy more of and gift to my friends! If you are in the market to buy something unique, I highly recommend these small indie brands. They make stuff that just isn’t sold at the drugstore or at Sephora. Plus you are supporting someone whose livelihood is their business!
