Lipstick in Dance off, Pants off. Lipglasses in Saint Germain, Bubble Butt and Glitter Grunge.
I don’t even like Trolls. When the Troll dolls came out in the 90’s. My best friend’s birthday party had a lot of trolls and girls were going nuts over them, making wishes on their bellies. I was like, “they’re so ugly!” Just not into ’em. My mother hated them too, and if she hated them, I didn’t get to have them. So you’d think I wouldn’t be attracted to this collection. But I’m more attracted to the colors themselves and knew they would be colors I’d actually wear.
There are actually strange colors in this collection. A yellowy chartreuse lipstick that I’d never wear, a light blue lipgloss that can acually be used to top a lipcolor you want cooler, and a darker blue lipstick… which looks good on Instagram but in real life, I might not wear.
But then there are the wearable colors! Saint Germain is a permanent MAC color, and had added the matching lipglass and nail polish in recent years. I actually own both the lipstick and lipglass, but I didn’t mind getting a backup because I actually wear it. And the glittery magenta and violet lipglasses were right up my alley.
If you’ve seen my MAC Pink Lipstick swatch extravaganza, you’ll know I own too many fucshia lipsticks. Dance Off, Pants Off is a frost finish, so it’s different. So…. I was right to get it.
And okay let’s talk about the packaging…. it’s actually cute. Even if I don’t like Trolls. The colors are vibrant and every product comes in a different color packaging, and that’s a lot of fun. The neon orange lipstick is a lot brighter in real life than the photos! And the teal glitter lipglass caps are so pretty! And the caps are smooth and not gritty! So you won’t be getting glitter all over your fingers and makeup bag.
And yeah, that’s an imprint from typing on my laptop on my wrist. I’m always typing so it’s always there.
