“You don’t watch The Simpsons?! I’ve lost all respect for you!”
oh my heart.
Truthfully, I watched it when it first came out. And when you move in with a guy, The Simpsons are ON. So I’ve now watched each episode 500 times. I get the quotes now! The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror is something to look forward to every Halloween!
This is a large collection, however I only got two things, even though I wanted to pick up a lot more! So today’s review will be unfortunately a short one. I go over each of the items offered and explain what they are and why I didn’t buy it or why I want it. I usually have my own photos in my blog posts, but since I didn’t get the whole collection, I am using screen shots from the Revolution beauty website. Believe me, I had a whole lot more in my cart but the total was getting out of budget so I had to remove some items. They’re very affordable, but it really adds up!
Spooktacular Eyeshadow Palette, $25
The large palette was extra chaotic and definitely screams cartoon with the shades they offer! I was a bit interested, but it also was just too all-over-the-place. I decided to not spend an additional $25 on it. However, if I see it in person I wonder if I’ll change my mind.
Witch Lisa Highlighter Palette, $15
I really wanted the Lisa highlighter palette but it wasn’t available on Ulta.com. It is on the Revolution site but I was purchasing other things from Ulta anyway. Seeing how unpigmented the “Cursed” shade is in the trio, I don’t know if it is worth it. I still like the shades based on the photo though. It may be worth the visit to Ulta to swatch it in person.
Treehouse of Horror Couch Makeup Bag, $18
This might be a must-get for a big fan of The Simpsons. (Holiday gift idea!) I have my own brand that offers makeup bags, therefore I have too many makeup bags. This can also be used as a travel bag for the guy in your life that is a fan.
Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Alien Maggie, $15
This is very autumn with terra cotta, oxblood, peacock, rusty and peachy golden shades.
Mini Eyeshadow Palette in The Raven Bart, $15
The Raven Bart has sooty, smoky and neutral shades. While I like the color story, the pigment doesn’t last long and fades pretty quickly. For a complete eye look, I have to add warm shades from Pricked to help blend it out. The Raven is not the most pitch black eyeshadow, that will be the next palette I post!
Spooktacular Face Palette, $15
The cool imprints are really a selling point in this trio! But the blush and bronzer also work really well for me and I’ll be using this palette.
The Brains blush -If you think it will go with your skin tone, this trio will be something to consider. I like it on me, it’s pigmented, you can see it, but it’s not too crazy.
The Evil Twin bronzer works great. On my complexion it definitely warms my skin tone up.
I think the highlighter Cursed isn’t pigmented enough. I have to apply it with my finger and then blend it with a brush for it to show up. I checked later in the day, I don’t even see it on my face. You can’t even see it in the swatch photos!
Bouvier Coven Brush Set, $25
Definitely on my list of things I wish I had more money for! They’re magic brooms! These are cute and who doesn’t need ten thousand brushes on their vanity?
Living Dead Lip Kit Devil Flanders, Donut Head Homer and Vampire Mr Burns, $15 for each set
This is a liquid lipstick and a lip gloss.
Donut Head Homer Bending Sponge, $8
I get the concept, it’s very clever. However, the shape makes me think it will awkward to use.
Alien Gel Slime Primer, $14
It’s green! It shouldn’t make YOU green though. I have no idea if it has a scent. What would alien slime smell like?
Gel Slim Lip Mask in “Kang” and “Kodos”, $8 each
Kang is Lemon Lime and Kodos is Candy Apple. I had one in my cart but took it out so I wouldn’t be spending as much. (I already had bought lip masks from Laneige.) I like Lemon Lime scent though, if I happen to wander into an Ulta, it might end up in my basket.
“Bat Your Lashes” lash Duo, $15
This was in my cart and I kinda wish I got it. One lash is purple and it flares out. The other lash is really wipsy and long and I think I might like it. Maybe I’ll get it in store if it doesn’t sell out.
Gruesome Gel Liner in “Witch Lisa” and “The Raven Bart”, $10 each
It’s a super basic product and you can buy black gel liner anywhere, anytime. But if you like the Simpsons logo that would be the only reason to buy it. $10 is not a bad price so if you need it, you need it. I probably would have gotten “Witch Lisa” because I was in the market black gel liner anyway. But I ended up getting a Maybelline one a week later.
The Raven Bart has shimmers that makes it look more like its a gray in the picture, but it says it’s a high intensity black base.
You can purchase this collection on Revolution’s website, Ulta.com and Ulta stores.
Revolution has maybe too many cool collabs going on right now! Currently, Revolution has Corpse Bride, The Matrix, Batman, Pebbles, Bratz, Friends, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Disney Princesses. There are too many cool things in each collection and something I want out of each of them. It’s overwhelming and I am not rich enough for this! I did get Cocoa Pebbles! That post will be up in November.
Included in this photo are some of my MAC x The Simpsons stuff. I have way more, but these were easily found in my makeup stash. I am saving the nail stickers for an appropriate occasion!
