Queen Cosmetics is easily one of my favorite brands, the fact that this is my third post about their products shows it to be true! You can read the first and second post here. The glosses previously reviewed are also re-swatched for this post. These lip glosses are something I could never find with big name brands. Indie brands are the way to go if you want unique, innovative finishes and formulas!
It has been 8 years since I launched this blog and 7 since I launched my shop! March 24th holds a special place in my heart because it is my mother’s birthday. She passed in 2011, and I launched my blog and business on her birthday in honor of her. She always supported my creative endeavors. I hope she’d be glad I am not only writing, but I also decided to open a shop with my art and crafts. Speaking of supportive parents, Ellie of Queen Cosmetics got started thanks to her father who believed in her and invested in her business. She was able to pay him back, which I am sure is one of the best feelings as a small business owner (and a daughter)!
Her success is well-earned, and there are only more milestones for her to cross! She comes out with such creative and high quality products. I wear these lip glosses every single day!
Iridescent Pressed Eyeshadows
Queen Cosmetics has been known for glosses, but they are finally delving into eyeshadow singles. (They have had a few palettes, including the Euphoria and Enchanted Forest palettes!) The single pan eyeshadows are to be inserted into their cute Sublime Hearts compacts. The heart slides to reveal the shadow. They come in pink and silver at $10 each. As cute as it is, I personally like having my singles in a build-your-own empty magnetic palette, as shown below. For me it is easier for me to use, and I won’t lose them.
This launch came out with 5 light iridescent shades, and 5 brighter multichrome shadows. I opted to just buy five for now and chose the iridescent line. These can be worn in many ways which is why I chose this set over the other. All over the lid, center of the lid, as an inner corner highlight, as a general highlight….
- Immortal– antique gold with pink shift
- Supernatural– pink with gold shift
- Celestial Being –Â blue shift
- Heavenly– gold shift
- Transcendent-Â pink, gold shift
One thing I wish, is that they were labeled on the bottom. Sitting here in incandescent lighting, trying to figure out which is which is challenging. The pans look different in different lighting. The white ones look, well….. white. But they’re so much more! Pictured above, the angle and lighting really helps show you the shifts.
The following photos are blurry so you can see the colors of the sparkle a little bit better.
Don’t ask me which is which in the following swatches! I am all mixed up! I am swatching them on my arm trying to figure out which is which. Now I am just covered in sparkles. I could only easily tell you which is Celestial. (The blue one.) Otherwise, I am in a pink/gold/pink/gold abyss. They’re different, yes, but which is which? When I have time, I’ll edit the post and list them underneath each picture.Â
These shadows match well with the Stardom gloss collection! So if you like one collection, you might like the other!I like to build my own palettes, especially with my indie shadows which usually come in singles.
My poor Love Luxe Beauty shadows seen better days. Not sure why they’re so crumbled, but it is getting everywhere!
The other brands shown are Touch of Glam Beauty, Bitter Lace Beauty, Give Me Glow Cosmetics, Glam-Shop.pl, Ensley Reign and the bottom purple palette consists of Mac Cosmetics.
Diamond Shimmer Glosses
This collection features super sparkles!
- Virtual Reality – blue, purple and white sparkle
- Astral Projection– white base and silver sparkle
- Moonstone– lilac, pink to green sparkle
- Stargazing– pink, orange sparkle
- Divine Aura –Â pink yellow sparkle
- Aphrodite– gold, orange with a flash of pink sparkle
Swatches from the top to bottom: Virtual Reality, Astral Projection, Aphrodite, Divine Aura, Stargazing, Moonstone and the old version of Moonstone. The new one is packed with a lot more sparkles! You can tell the difference in both the tube and in the swatches.
Moonstone had been around for awhile, and it was almost always sold out! Now I know why! It is incredible! It has this unexpected green shift and I am loving it. It has since been reformulated since creating a whole Diamond Shimmer collection and it’s even more packed with sparkles now!
Astral Projection is has the sparkle intensity that I wanted in the Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Vinyl Shimmer finish. That was so disappointing. But here come indie brands to the rescue to give us the punch we want! You want shimmer? Get Astral Projection from Queen!
Holographic
Seeing the creation of Euphoria on TikTok is what started it for me! First, I was obsessed with the HBO show. Second, her videos show how GORGEOUS this purple gloss is!
These aren’t gritty. It depends on the formulation. I am wearing Bad Witch and I cannot feel any glitter whatsoever. With Euphoria, I noticed you can feel the fine glitters if you really mash your lips together. They’re pretty fine and it’s not bothersome. Queen has a new formulation, so I do not know what the new holos feel like. I could only imagine they didn’t make them gritty.
You can wear these however you wish! Wear them on your whole lip or a dab on the center.
I like to wear them with a blended lip liner and on its own. But you can wear them with a liquid lipstick for extra color. I recommend you do this with Black Widow and Love Spell. Since they are darker glosses, any bleeding or mistakes will look obvious, so you will want to line your lips or have a precise application of a liquid lipstick. The other shades are lighter and more forgiving.
You can wear this with a cream lipstick, but the sparkle will fade faster because the creamy pigments will mix with them and the glitters covered. So it’s not really the best way to wear them, but do what you want!
Pictured: Euphoria, Bad Witch, Wanderlust, Magic Potion, Love Spell, Black Widow, Face Time
- Wanderlust– purple base, pink sparkle, holographic sparkle
- Magic Potion– purple base, heavy green sparkle holographic sparkle
- Bad Witch– purple to pink shift green sparkle, holographic rainbow sparkle
- Euphoria– purple with holographic sparkles
- Love Spell– dark grayed purple with holographic sparkles
- Black Widow– black with holographic sparkles
- Face Time– copper with holographic sparkles
While it doesn’t look like it, I feel like these are a LOT more sparkly then they appear in the photo. Especially Black Widow. I think it’s because the gloss base is so pigmented. Perhaps when it is on my lips over a liquid lipstick black base, it will sheer itself enough that the sparkles show. I’d need to actually test this theory out. I don’t wear black lips a whole lot!
Now this photo really shows how beautiful the Enchanted Garden Glosses really are! They’re color-shifting and holographic! All the bells and whistles! Right up my alley!
Pictured in order are Euphoria, Bad Witch, Wanderlust and Magic Potion.
Stardom Multidimensional Gloss
Only a few of the glosses from the Stardom collection are currently being sold. I highly recommend all of these and am disappointed that they were not more popular. In a video, Ellie has stated that my absolute favorite, Supernova isn’t that popular. People… that gloss is amazing. Supernova needs more love! I bought a backup just in case it gets discontinued. You can see from one of my photos below how worn my tube is! It is very well-loved and taken with me everywhere. I should get a 3rd backup because I want to have this shade forever!
These are toppers, but you can wear them any way you want. I’ll use a lip liner, blend it, and the gloss by itself. But they also really transform a liquid lipstick. I wrote in my first post about this collection that using them with a lipstick will eventually take the sparkle away because the pigments mix because they’re both wet. It makes sense that it works better with a liquid lipstick because the base is dried.
- Cosmic Dust– pink, orange
- Nebula– purple
- Interstellar– yellow
- Aurora– blue
- Supernova– pink, purple with iridescent flakies
My Lip Gloss Collection
As you can see, I really like these glosses! I don’t have them all, but it’s a good enough collection. I am interested in the plumping glosses, but I haven’t yet purchased one.
For the sparkly, glosses, the amount of sparkle you see really depends on lighting and angles. When you are out and about, the lighting constantly changes, so you may see a TON of sparkle in certain lighting, and not much in other lighting. It’s why I am trying to show these swatches in various different lighting situations.
Swatched are the Stardom collection, holographic and then Diamond Shimmers. I have other swatches in the previous post.
It’s hard to name a favorite gloss shade because the list gets bigger and bigger, But Supernova from Stardom, Euphoria, Moonstone and all 3 shades from the Enchanted Forest collection. I bought backups of all of them and gifted my friends the shades I think they’d like as presents.
At the time of posting this, the entire Queen Cosmetics website is 20% off. I’d rake advantage of the sale and sign up for the rewards program!
