With all of the colors of the rainbow… plus neutral and grayscale all covered… what was next for JSC’s palette collection? A wedding palette naturally! Bridal makeup is a popular niche many makeup artists get into, so of course there should be a dedicated wedding palette! It’s a great palette for everyday use, plus an option for pro MUAs to use on their brides.
In 2009, I was a bride in the search for the perfect eyeshadow palette. I hired a professional for my wedding and photoshoots. I was so inspired by Maria’s artistry, that I wanted replicate what she did so I could do it my own. I learned a lot from her doing my makeup and I became very interested in becoming a makeup artist myself. Back then, makeup artistry was becoming a little more mainstream because of YouTube. However, the amount of quality makeup palettes wasn’t as vast as it is now. I had bought a few choices, Little Brown Dress by Pop and Too Faced Natural Eyes. Eventually I went to a MAC pro store and built my own “perfect” neutral palette. The goal was to own every single pan! Then brands kept coming out with more and more neutral palettes, which is fine with me! What I like about palettes now is there are so many options. I tend to not go for a 4 or a 5-pan and prefer these mega palettes with a ton of options. Of course I jumped on this palette despite it being 13 years later. It’s a palette great for the every day makeup wearer!
The Star Wedding Palette consists of a cream, various brown tones, metallic bronzes, plums, a grayscale and of course the shade that stands out the most is the hot pink called Mrs. Star in the middle. While not a typical bridal eyeshadow color, it’s Jeffree signature color and I think it’s super appropriate for a JSC palette. You should always put your personal touches in an event all about you! A bride can wear whatever they want, so don’t think you must do a classic look if you’re a bride. You can wear whatever you want!
You can purchase the collection at Jeffree Star Cosmetics and at Beautylish.
Star Wedding Eyeshadow Palette, $62
Liquid Star Shadow, $20 each
Behind The Veil -Glitter White with iridescent multi-colored pearls
Favorite Frosting- Glitter champagne with silver pearls
I have been interested in getting a couple of iridescent white liquid eyeshadows. Here are likely dupes I was eyeing:
• Mac Dazzleshadow in Diamond Crumbles
A set I did buy is, Milani Daze of Disco Hypnotic Lights Eye Holographic Topper Kit which has a few shades are similar to the JSC ones I just bought. If you were looking for a better value, that is a good choice. The Pixi Fairy Lights have been popular (probably from Tik Tok) look comparable.
Velour Liquid Lipstick in Feeling So Innocent, $18
This is the color I have been waiting for! I’ve purchased a lot of liquid lipsticks and it’s been difficult trying to find a nice flattering pink for my fair olive skin tone. It’s the yellow-green tone that really makes certain shades pull an unflattering color, and my paleness that makes everything look so dark on me. Feeling So Innocent just two of the most flattering pinks on the market. Ofra is the other one, but I can’t figure out what shade it is looking at the website. Feeling So Innocent is almost a My Lips But Better shade, meaning it’s not a PANK pink, but leans a bit neutral without being too brown. However, this will vary depending on your skintone. If you have a deep tone, it might even look a little bubblegum on you. I don’t really know because I cannot find a swatch online. Liquid lipsticks are definitely one of those things that you need to see on yourself to see if you like it. On me, I love this!
Star Phone Selfie Light, $22
There are three light modes: cool, warm and a combo. They clip onto your smartphone and help light your face for selfies. I love that there are different light modes for a more flattering lighting situation. I love anything star shaped or star printed, so I just had to get it.
Wedding Proof Makeup Setting Spray, $26
This is supposed to have the same result as the Urban Decay All-Nighter. It’s supposed to set and lock it into place so your makeup doesn’t budge. The only opportunity I really had to truly put it tp the test was during a music festival and 95 degrees. My eye makeup was great at the end of the day, but nothing could be done for my face! It was just too hot! Otherwise, any other day when not in extreme weather and not doing any sweaty activities, my face and eye makeup held up. It doesn’t have a lovely scent like the Pink Religion Holy Mist, but that isn’t supposed to be a lock it on, stay all day setting spray. So in my opinion, both are needed. I use all kinds of sprays! Mostly for the hydration, but I have got to lock it in too!
Compared To Other JSC Palettes
A common compliant I saw on social media is that commenters thought it was too close to Blood Sugar and Orgy. I’d argue that it’s not the same. In fact, it’s an extension because they colors go really well together. And I need every single eyeshadow shade in existence! There are shades that are similar but they’re not the same. You can look for a dupe, but they’re more continuations of the same color family, rather than the same exact shade. It’s good to have more for blending or if you have a shade hat won’t go with one skin tone, but another might. Jeffree isn’t the type to put in repeats and give it a different name. I think these all compliment each other. Though if you are on a fixed budget, it will be a matter of which you think you will get the most use out of and that will be up to you to decide.
A professional bridal makeup artist may want to depot every palette and put them into their own palette based on value. (Color value not money) I’d like to see how that turns out!
I hit five pans in my Orgy palette, so it was my luck when there was a promotion for $11! This is a fresh crisp, clean one.
Psychedelic Circus is coming out very soon! It’s a 180 from this one! It’s on the list for sure! All the info is on the provided link!
