For my birthday, I went to Las Vegas. I had to bring my Glamlite Cake palette with me because I have been absolutely loving this palette. Plus, it’s not a birthday without cake, right? (Well, it’s not my birthday without pizza!) I did also need to have an actual cake, even though I can’t actually eat it, I had to at least get some photos of them together! They really do go nicely together!
The packaging is so cute you’ll be giddy to open the box!
First, the outer carton is an oven, and you open it like an oven door! The creativity astounds me! It’s just so adorable!
The cake in the photo is made by Nick of The Scranline. That link goes to their website and this link goes to their Instagram. The website is complete with easy to follow recipes or follow their the styled pics on Instagram!
Gisselle was inspired by the fresh fruit filled cakes she’d have growing up with her family and friend’s celebrations. The names and the colors just make this palette so much fun to use, thinking of the various color combinations we can use! Or if you just want to stay neutral, you can definitely do that! It’s your party, celebrate however you want!

I really love using the metallics on my lids. I often dig into Strawberry, Guava, Lavender and Cinnamon. The formula is out of this world. I love how creamy and easy to use the ultra metallics are. The mattes are intense and easy to blend. I don’t have any patchiness on my eyes. In fact, I had been skipping primer when staying at home just to preserve the tube. (It runs out fast!) The eyeshadows always look bold and don’t fade, shockingly without the primer. But these are swatches with the eyeshadow primer on my arm.
As you can see Glamlite’s eyeshadows are super bright, colorful, pigmented and fun! I pretty much want every palette Glamlite offers! Even if I’m not wild about the color story, the theme is right up my alley! (Junk food! The reason why my gallbladder is shot! ha!) I do seriously need to add the Mikayla palette to my collection. I keep eyeing it, but this trip cost a pretty penny and I need to save money. I seriously got 10 palettes for my birthday anyway. (Two I bought, the rest were gifts.) I got enough eyeshadow to last several lifetimes!
The Cake Palette also makes an amazing birthday gift! I actually bought one for my friend, as well as other bakery accessories to make it a themed gift! Any of your makeup loving friends would be delighted to receive this!
This palette retails for $40, but there are usually coupons you can find. You can purchase this on the official Glamlite website.

So a birthday without cake, just ain’t right. Even if I can’t eat it, I wanted one anyway! It was very convenient that the pretty rainbow cake was in the very hotel I was staying at! I don’t watch Cake Boss, but a lot of people I’ve talked to do, and they were excited to learn that I was going. In fact, the friend I went to visit, wanted to swing by to take her son, so I went there two days in a row. It gave me a chance to take more pictures when it wasn’t crowded.
I appreciate how even the layers are. (Of course they’re consistent! They’re professionals!) I made a rainbow layered cake once in my life, and it certainly wasn’t even! You can see my old blog post here. It was an ordeal, so I haven’t attempted to make it again.
I picked the strawberry cake slice because 1- it’s strawberry! Also because the pink frosting matches the palette! I do wish I took better photos, but I worked with what I had without getting frosting all over the hotel’s sheets. (The only bright light in the room was the reading lights under the headboard.)
Unfortunately, due to my health problems I cannot eat fatty foods without experiencing major pain from gallstones. So I was only able to eat a couple bites before passing it over to someone else to eat. But I wish I could have experienced more of it, but every bite is a risk for an attack. It won’t kill me, but it certainly feels like it.
The next post I will feature the Norvina Pro Pigment Palette Vol. 5. It’s purple so of course I needed yet another purple palette in my collection. It was a must-have and I made it my mission to buy it while in Vegas. If things go right, I’ll also blog about my trip.
Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored. I paid for the Glamlite palette myself and I went to Carlo’s on my own, and paid for my cake.
