Wizards and witches! The Wizarding World collab we have been waiting for has magically appeared! I am personally glad it is Colourpop they collaborated with. It’s affordable and great quality. The official Happy Potter shop has a makeup line, including a Luna Lovegood collection which was something I wanted. But having something shipped from the UK can be expensive and a little cumbersome. They still have some items left, and maybe I’ll get it. The nail polishes seems to be sold out, but I don’t think they could ship them to me. (Plus, they’re dupeable!) Cherry Wallis did a video on the line awhile ago, check it out on YouTube!
One thing I do have is the Wizardry and Witchcraft palette from Storybook Cosmetics when they had a clearance sale. I have no idea what happened to them, but I have seen threads on Reddit about how people have lost money because the company disappeared. However, I am including the palette in the photoshoot for completionists sake!
This is pretty much a first impression and swatch post because I haven’t really worn the palette since I just got it. So it’s a short one today!
I am a Ravenclaw! I’ve taken three tests, and the Pottermore test. All Ravenclaw. The ultimate test was the chocolate frog card, which turned out to be none other than Rowena Ravenclaw! I had to get the Fourth Ray Beauty Lip Balm in Wit, ($10). On the website it is described as:
a luscious and fresh flavor with notes of blackberries, woodland basil and hints of spiced vanilla bean.
It’s kinda berry but kinda more Playdough. This is just a lip balm so there isn’t any color, which is alright with me!
I also got the L. Lovegood lux gloss, ($10) a silvery shimmery gloss. It’s not as impactful as Queen Cosmetics glosses, but I love the formula for the lux gloss. It feels thick and moisturizing. It doesn’t give any color, but it smells like a fruity cereal, so it’s okay!
Back to Hogwarts Shadow Palette, $30
It costs just a little bit more than their usual palettes, but this one has 24 shades. The usual palettes have 15 shades for $24 and the Mega Palettes have 30 shades for $34. The whole brand is still a great value seeing other brands have less colors for $55-65.
I do have to point out ow unique Forbidden Forest is. They even have silver bar glitter which is pretty unusual for the eyes. I’d be afraid it would fall into my eyes! A glitter glue primer is going to be pretty important to keep the glitter from falling.
The following swatches are only of the Colourpop Back to Hogwarts palette:
Super Shock Highlighters, $12 each
The Super Shock formula is what Colourpop is known for! It feels wet, mushes in the pan and has a lot of shine. These are to be used. They will dry out over time, so make sure you use what you buy to get the most out of your money!
The Ravenclaw bracelet I bought on my birthday when I was in Hollywood this past July!
Colourpop also has liquid eyeliners in the House colors, but I didn’t get any because I didn’t have an immediate need for any of the colors, and they tend to dry out. So I’ll get a liquid eyeliner when I need one!
I didn’t provide swatches for the Wizardry and Witchcraft palette because you can no longer buy it. Otherwise, I would have done some comparisons since the color story has some similarities. But right now, the Colourpop one is the one to get because they will actually send it to you.
Is anyone else looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy? I need to buy a new system because I have Xbox 360. I am trying to decide between Xbox or Playstation. I hear that Playstation has an exclusive quest where you can learn the Felix Felicis potion, plus I could also play God of War. But both systems seem impossible to get, so I guess whichever I can actually buy will be the one. I am really looking forward to this immersive world! This is the game we had been waiting for, for decades! I cannot wait to explore the celestial dark academia aesthetic common room! Notice my background? It goes!
