Guys are always sliding into my DMs asking for these. Here you go boys.
I lagged on getting a review up for the JSC Blood Lust palette and then the pandemic hit. I decided that makeup blogging and social media were not important and I stopped posting. But this pandemic isnāt going to end anytime soon, neither are these disasters. I have a backlog of reviews and now is a terrible time to make makeup posts…. but sometimes you have to find the joy in something you like, just as a temporary little escape. I had purchased the Morphe collab and Cremated since then, so expect posts in the future about those three palettes. In fact I have a giveaway of one of those palettes, but I am not ready to post all the rules and such right now. I realize Jeffree is cancelled once again. Youāve got to do your research, find out the facts and make your own opinions based on the facts, not based on random comments you see on Twitter. I’m here for the palette and so are you! So I have some photos of swatches to present to you, so you can decide if you want this in your collection.
Color has been covered so why not some neutrals? I see comments on how āboringā neutral palettes are all the time on Instagram. Whatever. If you wear makeup, you need neutrals. Even if you have a colorful look, there might be neutrals in there rounding out the look. It’s a staple item. If you already have your neutrals, thatās nice, then you wonāt need these palettes. But I have always been on the lookout for the perfect neutral palette. Iāve built my own from MAC and I purchased many palettes from other brands. I canāt get enough eyeshadow. I mean, I also have a ton of purple palettes too.
My goal in making my own neutral palette when I was buying eyeshadow singles: Buy every tone on the value scale, in warm, neutral and cool. You never know what you need, especially when working on other people. (This is when I wanted to be a professional makeup artist.) I wanted to be prepared and have every single shade I would need for everyoneās skin tone. This is exactly what Jeffree Star did in the Orgy palette. My quest is over. Iām not a professional MUA, but I can recommend this for those who are! I can see how scandalous this will be in a professional makeup artistās arsenal at a brideās getting ready session and I love it.
There is a lot you can do with these two palettes, so many looks. Just because they’re neutral doesn’t mean it’s actually boring! The matte palette paired with the metallic one really adds to the look and I don’t regret purchasing the mini palette! In fact, I recommend it because the shades are gorgeous!
If the Orgy theme grosses you out or youāre just offended… Then this simply isnāt for you, donāt buy it. Or you can just enjoy it for what it is …an eyeshadow palette. Or you can ignore itās existence entirely and close every window that features it. I choose to enjoy the palette for it’s easy, everyday convenient shades, as well as laugh at the hilarious, outrageous theme. I think itās pretty funny how he goes all out, no shame. (It’s not like Nars and Too Faced haven’t done it too.)
I hope that the swatches are helpful and that you enjoy the flat lays.
I have swatched the 30 pan matte palette over eyeshadow primer. However, the 9 pan mini palette is swatched without primer. There are no outdoor shots because the state is currently on fire, and it’s smoky outside.
Row One: I’m Shy, Vanilla Latex, Implant, Teach Me, Silk Robe and Seduction.
Row Two: Voyuerism, Fluffer, Blow Out, Gender Fluid, Body and Bed or Floor?
Row Three: Knee Pads, Safe Sex, Top, Bottom, Versatile, and Cunnilingus
Row Four: Craving Chocolate, All Night Long, Body Chills, Booby Trap, Invitation Only and Scorpio
Row Five: Money Shot, Explicit, Happy Ending, Orgy, I’m Close, and Glory Hole
Imagine if he used unique stamps for this palette. That would be downright hilarious!
The Mini Orgy Palette is a 9-pan full of metallics. A great accompaniment to the 30 shade matte palette.
Update: There is an issue where a batch of the Mini Orgy palette was not well-mixed and some shades turned out less than stellar. Read this Reddit thread for more details. I honestly didn’t notice this issue at first, I just thought it was the way it was supposed to be. But as I use it and now that I am aware, I do notice that Glass Wet and Foam Party are like pellets. Because other palettes I have used (Like the one from Huda Beauty) also have pellets, I thought it was some newfangled formula that was popular.
As the email/screenshot in the Reddit thread mentions, we could email customer service for a replacement. I am unsure if I am two months too late or if I don’t qualify because I purchased it from Beautylish.
Mini Orgy Palette Shades: Glass Wet, Champagne Pop, Gagging, Soaking Sun, Frozen Fire, Bath House, Explicit, Foam Party, and Eiffel Tower.
Update: Now that I am looking at the swatches, I can see that Glass Wet and Foam Party aren’t as pigmented. I honestly didn’t even consider that fact that they should be at the time.
Disclaimer: I purchased these palettes with my own money. I don’t get paid to make reviews.
